Sergio Ramos, UNICEF Ambassador, visits children affected by floods in Peru

Sergio Ramos, UNICEF Ambassador, visits children affected by floods in Peru

For several days, I had the opportunity to accompany Sergio Ramos on his visit to Peru to get to know first-hand together with UNICEF the situation of children affected by the floods. As president of RR-Soccer Management Agency and Sergio’s agent, it has been a privilege to be able to learn about the remarkable stories of those overcoming such difficult circumstances.

Sergio, Ambassador for the UNICEF Spanish Committee, made the most of his first days off by meeting children from Piura who were affected by the rains in March.

At Catacaos we visited the shelter 980 where many families and children who were forced to abandon their homes due to the floods are now staying. Sergio had the opportunity to play football with a very special friend, Josué, two and a half years old, who just one month ago was suffering from acute malnutrition. He also helped the mothers to prepare low-cost meals in the dining hall and observed the protocol being followed to monitor the children’s health.

Afterwards, we moved on to the Santiago Artemio Requena School, which had also suffered serious damages from the rainfall. There we could see how the school was slowly returning back to normality. The visit ended in the best possible way, with a football match where Sergio played together with several of the children.

The trip to the area was followed by a visit to the small village Villa Vicus, which thanks to UNICEF has a new water pump. The children welcomed us with games and when we left they were kicking around the ball that Sergio had given them. Finally, he enjoyed and took part in activities from the programme ‘La onda de mi cole’ (My School’s Vibe) which helps young people to reflect on children’s rights.

The visit to Peru is the fourth trip for the UNICEF Ambassador of the Spanish Committee, following his visits to Senegal, Brazil and Cuba. In Sergio’s own words, the sole aim of the trip was to bring attention to the situation of the children in Peru and to ask for your help: “No child should be deprived of their basic rights to enjoy their childhood. I am ready to do all I can so that UNICEF has the resources needed to continue to look after them. And yourselves? Together we have the opportunity and obligation to help them. Now is the time.”

Without a doubt, our profession has given us a unique opportunity and an unforgettable experience with children who simply want to move forward with their best smiles.

Sergio Ramos and Marcelo, European Champions for the Third Time

Real Madrid were crowned European champions for the twelfth time on Saturday June 3 with a 4-1 victory over Juventus in the UEFA Champions League final in Cardiff. Both Sergio Ramos and Marcelo Vieira, represented by René Ramos, President of RR-Soccer Management Agency, played in the final and added Europe’s elite title to their honours for the third time in their careers.

Sergio Ramos continues to make history. The Camas-born central defender was once again a key piece in what was his third European Cup, with 11 appearances, 2 goals and 106 interceptions. Sergio also became the first captain to raise the Champions League trophy in consecutive years.

For his part, Marcelo Vieira continues to consolidate his status as the best left back in the world. The Brazilian played 11 matches in this year’s tournament, again reaffirming his position as the lynchpin of the left flank of Zinedine Zidane’s team.

And so ends a season to remember, with the two defenders collecting La Liga and UEFA Champions League honours, adding more medals to their cabinets and cementing their status as two legendary players.

Congratulations to both.

Fourth league title for Sergio Ramos and Marcelo Vieira

Sergio Ramos and Marcelo Vieira, both represented by René Ramos, President of RR-Soccer Management Agency, were crowned La Liga champions 2016/2017 with Real Madrid, after a 2-0 win over Málaga CF on the final matchday of the League season.

Ramos has been a key player in the side coached by Zinedine Zidane. The captain has played 2,489 minutes in 28 games, notching up a total of 7 goals and 172 interceptions. The central defender’s goals have also been decisive, winning the team 9 points. What’s more, he is now sixth on the list of Madrid players with the most League victories (253).

For his part, Marcelo played 2,227 minutes over 30 games. He scored 2 goals and played a fundamental role in both defence (182 interceptions) and in attack, providing 10 assists.

And so the two Real Madrid defenders rounded off a triumphant league campaign and continue to add to their honours. Since arriving at the club, they have now won 4 League championships together and hope to complete a dream season on 3 June when they play in the Champions League final in Cardiff.

Sergio games Champions

The match had something special for both. Sergio Ramos reached 100 games with Real Madrid in Europe’s elite competition. Since his debut on 13 September 2005, Sergio has gone on to amass the fourth highest number of appearances in the competition in the club’s history. During this time, the Camas-born defender has played and won two finals, proving decisive in both with goals that will be forever writ large in the history of Real Madrid.

It also marked Marcelo Vieira’s 400th game in the white shirt. He joined the club in November 2006 and has since become indispensable to Real Madrid, with a total of 287 League appearances, 26 Copa del Rey appearances, 75 Champions League appearances, 6 Spanish Super Cup appearances, 2 European Super Cup appearances and 4 Club World Cup appearances. Marcelo’s honours already include 2 Champions League titles, 3 League titles, 2 Copas del Rey, 2 Spanish Super Cups, 2 European Super Cups and 2 Club World Cups.

The best of luck to both for this final stretch of the season. Keep making history!

Sergio Ramos celebrates 500 official matches with Real Madrid

The central defender from Camas, represented by René Ramos, made his 500th appearance with Real Madrid on Saturday. The defender, who joined the club in the summer of 2005 at just 19 years old, hit this milestone on 11 February 2017 in Pamplona in a match against Osasuna, becoming the 12th player in the history of this club to play 500 matches.

Since joining Real Madrid over 11 seasons ago, Ramos has racked up a total of 13 titles (2 Champions League, 3 La Ligas, 2 World Cups, 2 Spanish King’s Cups, 2 UEFA Super Cups and 2 Spanish Super Cups), including game-changing goals in the two European Cup finals that earned Real Madrid its Décima and Undécima wins.

As a central defender, Ramos has also managed to score 66 goals with Real Madrid to become the club’s third highest scoring defender, coming in behind the historic Roberto Carlos (with 68 goals) and Fernando Hierro (127).

By competition, Ramos has appeared with Real Madrid in:

  • 10 Super Cup matches in Spain
  • 3 Club World Cup matches

This is another incredible milestone for the Real Madrid captain, who, true to form, will surely strive to continually excel and reach even more milestones.

Congratulations, Sergio! The pride I feel as your representative and brother cannot be expressed in words.

Sergio Ramos and Marcelo, at the FIFA FIFPro World 11 again

Sergio Ramos and Marcelo, at the FIFA FIFPro World 11 again

You’ve done it again. You’re incredible. Yesterday I had the honour of accompanying you to Zurich once again to attend The Best FIFA Football Awards ceremony. Like last year, you were both chosen by thousands of professional footballers from all over the world to join the FIFA FIFPro World 11 2016. In other words, you are among the best eleven players on the planet and that’s how you end an unforgettable 2016. As President of RR-Soccer Management Agency, it is a pride to be your agent.

Sergio, brother, there are no words I can say. Those of us who know you know that you work very hard every day, and these awards and recognitions are no coincidence. Your teammates and fans have acknowledged this: you have been the most voted in the UEFA 2016 Team of the Year and now you are again, for the seventh time (sixth time running) in the FIFA FIFPro World 11.

Marcelo, your teammates think the same as me: you are the best winger in the world. It is the third time (second time running) that you appear in the FIFA FIFPro World 11. Your effort and passion for this sport, always with a smile, make you keep up a level within the reach of very few season after season.

My sincere congratulations to both of you. Now it’s time to make history this season.

To a 2017 that’s Filled with Success!

To a 2017 that’s Filled with Success!

Although those of us who work in the world of sport tend to think in seasons, it’s always good to pause for a moment and look back at 2016, which has been a year filled with new projects for RR Soccer Management Agency.

We opened new offices in Las Palmas and Seville, the culmination of many years of hard work, adding to our office in Madrid. There is no doubt that we have excellent professionals here at RR Soccer. Your talent, ambition and enthusiasm are the pillars of this agency.

Continuing with this line of expansion, we signed a collaboration agreement with Magnus Sports, the company founded by Marc Anthony, to work together on image rights for our athletes in the American market.

Also, I don’t want to forget about women’s football, which has such potential for growth in our country. We joined Ana Rossell’s company, AR10, in an agreement to foster the growth and professionalization of a sport that is attracting more and more followers both in our country and around the world. As I said on the day we signed the agreement, we believe firmly in women’s football and we’re delighted to offer players all our services and contribute in helping the sport get the recognition and professional treatment it deserves.

Even though we’re only at the halfway point of the season, it has been a year full of success for our athletes. Sergio and Marcelo have written another page in the history books of Real Madrid by winning the Champions League, European Super Cup and Club World Cup. They were also included in the FIFPro World XI 2015. Several of our players are playing in the Segunda División. I’d also like to make special mention of the young footballers and coaches represented by RR Soccer who work every day, at all levels, to achieve their dreams.

We also appreciate the work of our partners and collaborators: Julio Senn, Víctor Alfaro, Pedro Chueca, Dr. Antonio Escribano and Francisco Escobar. Thanks to all of you and your teams, our athletes have access to a range of services that are difficult to match.

I would also like to thank the media. They also help us get our message across and give visibility to all our activities and those of our athletes. They are, without doubt, essential travel companions in the world of sport. You all know that our doors are always open for you here.

I would like to wish you all a happy and prosperous 2017. May this season be, at least, as good as the last. I hope and wish that each and every one of you enjoy good health and that, looking back in 12 months, we can say that it’s been a year to remember.

This was the second Club World Cup title for both Sergio and Marcelo, completing an historic 2016 after winning the UEFA Champions League in Milan and European Super Cup in Trondheim.

With this FIFA Club World Cup, the Camas-born centre back and the Brazilian full back each bring their haul of titles with Real Madrid to 13.
