Marcelo extends his contract with Real Madrid

Marcelo Vieira and Real Madrid have reached an agreement under which the Brazilian fullback will extend his commitment to Los Blancos up to the 2019-2020 season.

The defender was signed from Fluminense in the 2006-2007 season. Since then, he has been a part of some of Real Madrid’s most memorable moments. In the nine seasons he has worn the famous white shirt, Marcelo has won one Champions League, one Club World Cup, one European Supercup, three La Liga titles, two Copa del Rey titles and two Spanish Supercups. He has also been selected on one occasion in the FIFA FIFPro World XI.

Marcelo is also a regular in the Brazilian national team, with which he has won two Olympic medals (silver at the London 2012 Games and bronze at the Beijing 2008 Games) and a Confederations Cup.
